No Love in Delhi
I'm a Delhite. I've spent my whole life in this city, and I always believed that among its millions of people, the right person would eventually find their way into my story.
What hurts isn't that things didn't work out. What hurts is how quickly everything became silence. A conversation that never happened. Questions that were never answered. Feelings that never got the chance to be understood.
Now every familiar road reminds me of what could have been. Delhi hasn't changed, but it feels different. The cafés are still full, the traffic is still endless, and life keeps moving. I'm the one standing still, wondering if one misunderstanding was enough to lose someone who might have been meant to stay.
People say time heals everything. Maybe they're right. But time doesn't erase the "what ifs." It doesn't stop you from replaying the same moments, wishing you had chosen different words or made a different decision.
The strange thing is that she probably isn't thinking about any of this anymore. She's living her life, while I'm still trying to make peace with a story that ended before it really began.
I'll always love Delhi because it's my home. But right now, every corner of this city reminds me of the one person I couldn't hold on to.
Maybe the city isn't empty.
Maybe it's just my heart.
And these days, it feels like there's no love in Delhi.
