Hope

There are nights when sleep comes easily to some people, while others lie awake replaying conversations that no longer exist.

I used to believe that if two people cared about each other, they would eventually find their way back. But life has a quiet way of teaching different lessons. Sometimes people leave even when there was love. Sometimes they walk away not because the feelings were fake, but because timing, fear, distance, or circumstances become louder than the heart.

What stays behind isn't always anger. More often, it's the silence.

It's remembering the little things no one else would notice the way they spoke your name, the comfort of their presence, the dreams you built without realizing they were becoming part of your future. Those memories don't disappear overnight. They linger in ordinary moments, showing up when you least expect them.

I wonder if healing looks the same for everyone. Maybe for one person it's peaceful sleep and new beginnings. For another, it's waking up at 3 a.m. with thoughts that refuse to leave. Maybe moving on isn't a race. Maybe it's simply learning how to carry memories without letting them carry you.

I don't wish for regret. I don't wish for guilt.

I only hope that somewhere, in a quiet moment between the noise of everyday life, you remember me not with sadness, but with honesty. I hope you remember that what we shared mattered, even if it wasn't meant to last.

Some people become chapters. Others become lessons.

A few become echoes that follow us long after the story ends.

And if you ever think of me, I hope it reminds you that once, for a brief moment in time, we were real.

Maybe that's enough.
